It's about 30 miles south of me DuD. I emailed the link to my buddy who wants a 68. But he really wants a 'Vert. We'll see. I'm going to try an finagle some time off to go to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona with him. If his wife and kids don't go, I'd like to. He's got a 70 Charger R/T clone. We'll get a 2 car trailer and haul his and mine up there to see what we can get for them.

If you don't like the offers, guess what? They come back home the same way.

Neat car, but note it has NO AC.  By '68 it was pretty rare to see a new Caddy sedan without AC.  Convertibles yes, sedans no, although our dealership sold a '67 Eldo without AC, only FWD Eldo we ever sold that way.

Wow, that is a real time capsule. On top of that it's a real oddity. Never mind the mileage, but the it's the sedan, of which only 9,850 were built. It's a well optioned car, but has no A/C.

Very appealling.

Anyone notice the ground strap to a head bolt?Never seen that before.

Fins

I have one on both heads in the rear to the firewall, another from frame to block, and another from frame to transmission bellhousing mounting bolt. The two on the frame are heavy braided cables, while the two on the heads are a lighter version.

I have a handful as well but put there by me and not to a headbolt.

Fins

None to a headbolt itself. The ones on the head are attached to the back of the head with a 5/16"-18X3/4" bolt.

I'll show you if you're at the show at the Sample Road Market in Dec.

Alternator bracket.

Oh, I see.

Can't say that I particularly recall noticing it on a 472, but anchoring brackets to head bolts was fairly common practice. Of course that's a special head bolt with a small stud built integral with its head end.

Good luck

Keeper is still stuck in the old days of the cars.

That isn't a ground STRAP. It's an alternator support bracket

Another oddity. Mine doesn't have that. Looks to be the optional alternator. It looks bigger than the 52 amp deal mine came with.

That's what I was thinking too. The front bracket is very different. And notice the heater hose clamped to the bracket too?

That's nothing like I remember in Outlaw's '68 either. His had the same brackets as the '70.
