I've got one that looks better than that and I paid $35 for it.

What's so rare about it? Their biggest downfall is moisture rots a hole in the bottom when they are mounted standing up. A little brazing and/or a patch fixes that.

I have a couple of tanks here that have pinholes from rust. That can easily be fixed. I brazed the hole on the one that was on my '70.

But, the biggest problem with them is the diaphragm, which is no longer available.

Make one.  :chin:  Inner tubes are cheap.

Nothing says it actually works, either.

The diaphragm is a pretty tough piece of rubber. Its heat formed and masticated. It has to be tough because it moves nback and forth about once per second. It sounds like the clock is running in my '70. But, apparently it's not indestructible.

I found a compressor under the hood of a '70 Eldo in the wreckers. Someone removed it and left it there. I grabbed it because I thiought it would be good for parts. I paid $25 for it. Brought it home, cleaned out the dirt from the connections, hooked it to a vacuum scource and away it went. I think that was the purchase of the week.
