No? All 1979-85 Biarritz's came with this, and a goodly part of the 1979-84 Eldo production were Biarrit's. It is very common.

The digital dash was optional on all the E/K cars in this era. Mine, a non Biarritz, is a well optioned car and it has the digital dash.

They were really nice cars at the time.  My boss had one when I was young.  Many years Later I owned a nice one myself.

And they are still really nice cars.

I've got a friend that's looking for a car. This would suit her well.

Shame she hasn't put aside any cash for the purchase :(
I'm sure with cash in hand I could get it for a bit less.

Well, I'd send Fins to look it over and cut a deal before I fly down to pic it up ;)

Hell, if I had the cash handy I'd get it now and hold it for her.

Fins

What engine is in the 84?

And only 80K and need CV joints already.   :scratchhead:  Don't people know you have to service these things too? I'll bet the boot got a crack in it, then made the full circle split, and dirt and water got in and chewed it up.

In the earlier years we used to cut the band off, peel the boot back, and pack them with fresh grease. Then there used to be an OEM band that we would put back on. But that was just for a few years, and most shops used large hose clamps, which to me was stupid.

Its one thing to gamble if you are looking for an extra car, a toy but if someone needs transportation, I think its a gamble to invest in a car that has a chance to self destruct.  Additionally it likely has all the Cadillac goodies; $$$ and difficult for the average backyard mechanic or even a shop to maintain along with possible limited availability of parts on an almost 30 year old car.  She'd be better off in a Cutlass, etc.

Any car has a chance to self destruct. Hell the brother-in-law managed kill his '72 CDV twice.
Both the 472 and the 425 I put in it.

Mike seems to think the horrors of the 4100 are over stated.

Agreed, but I haven't seen a Cutlass in nice shape in her price range.
Even $2k is pushing it for her.
( :chin: I think the one she just killed was a Cutlass)

I'd really like to find a small, late 80s - early 90s car for her, but the ones worth having are all out of reach.

1988 Fleetwood Brougham

EXCRUISERGUY

I'm tall and I fit in them no problem.
If the engine has been replaced with a Goodwrench engine it will be fine.
I have a replacement 4100 in my 82 Fleetwood and there's nothing wrong with it.

Only problem with my 4100 was the throttle position sensor went out once but that's hardly a problem.
